A good scope document includes:
- Rooms included in the remodel
- Layout changes (or confirmation that layout stays)
- Finish level direction (durable mid-range vs premium custom)
- What happens to existing items (keep/refinish/replace)
- “Nice to have” items that are optional if budget allows
When you have this in writing, bids are easier to compare and change orders become conscious decisions, not surprises.
